The Coalition LA Organizing Model Works!

At Coalition LA our membership is our leadership. We have brought the best grassroots organizing into the poorest neighborhoods of Los Angeles by:

• Recruiting and training over 800 neighborhood leaders
• Mobilizing thousands of voters on a regular basis
• Helping win campaigns on coal dust, vacant lot clean-up, and living wages
• Helping win a $70 million community benefits package from Staples Center developers
• Helping to get the mayor to promise and implement the $100 million Housing Trust Fund
• Helping to stop San Fernando Valley and Hollywood succession
• Winning, through the Verde Coalition, a land trust that will convert vacant lots into parks and play spaces in low-income neighborhoods
• Forcing the cleanup of hundreds of apartments and stopped dozens of evictions
